Softening
Hard water flows through high-efficiency fine mesh cation resin inside the cabinet, which takes out the calcium and magnesium that cause scale. It also removes up to 10 ppm of ferrous iron.

Metered regeneration
An integrated meter in the bypass counts the water your home actually uses, so the softener cleans its resin only when it needs to. That is how it uses up to 60% less salt and 77% less water than a softener that regenerates on a calendar clock.

Salt in the same cabinet
The salt sits in the same cabinet, up to 170 lb, behind a push-release hinged lid for easy refills, with a brine safety valve for extra overflow protection. It needs a drain nearby, and salt is an ongoing cost.

How Often Should My Softener Be Serviced?
A softener does not use replaceable filter cartridges, but it does need regular attention.
