Description
iSpring UVF55FS — 55W Whole House UV Sterilizer
The iSpring UVF55FS is a 55-watt ultraviolet water sterilizer designed for whole-house post-filtration disinfection. It eliminates bacteria, viruses, cysts, and microorganisms without chemicals — critical for well water installations or any water source where biological contamination is a concern. Installed as the final stage after sediment and carbon filtration to ensure the UV light works at maximum effectiveness on already-filtered water.
Key Features
- 55W UV output — high-intensity germicidal UV-C light for maximum kill rate
- 12 GPM flow rate — handles whole-house water demand
- Smart flow sensor switch — UV lamp activates only when water flows, extending lamp life
- 9,000-hour lamp life — approximately 1 year of continuous use; annual replacement recommended
- NSF/ANSI 55 Class B certified — tested and verified disinfection performance
- Stainless steel reactor chamber — corrosion-resistant, food-grade
- Quartz glass sleeve — protects the UV lamp; replace every 2 years
- 120V operation
- 1″ NPT inlet/outlet
When Is UV Sterilization Needed?
UV treatment is essential — not optional — for well water installations in Baja, where biological contamination from bacteria, viruses, and parasites is a real risk. Municipal water is chlorinated, but well water has no chemical disinfection. The UVF55FS provides a physical barrier against pathogens without adding any chemicals to your water. It’s installed as the last stage in a whole-house system, after the sediment pre-filter and carbon filtration, so the UV light can work on clear, filtered water for maximum effectiveness.
